Napoli are reportedly in the driving seat to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho is expected to be one of United’s most high-profile sales this summer after Ruben Amorim instructed the Argentine winger to find a new club.

Amorim showed Marcus Rashford the exit doors after being left unimpressed with his attitude. Now, Garnacho has also managed to get on his wrong side for similar reasons.

The 20-year-old has also appeared to be a tactical misfit under Amorim, whose 3-4-3 formation is more suited to wide playmakers rather than direct wingers.

As soon as Mason Mount returned to full fitness, the United head coach decided to start him over Garnacho. The decision in the Europa League final wasn’t received well by the Argentina international, who was subsequently left out of the Red Devils’ matchday squad against Aston Villa.

However, it must be noted that despite so many issues, Garnacho still hit double digits for goals and assists in all competitions this season.

This explains why a number of top European clubs are showing interest in handing him a lifeline.

According to The Guardian, Garnacho is not expected to be “short of offers” and his potential availability has “alerted several clubs looking for a potential bargain.”

United are understood to be open to parting ways with him for around £40 million.

It is claimed that Napoli, who tried to sign him in January, are the “early frontrunners”.

The Serie A champions remain in the market to find Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s replacement, who left Naples for Paris in the winter window.

Chelsea are also believed to be “monitoring his situation”. Earlier today, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the United academy product intends to stay in the Premier League.
