Atalanta try to end their crisis and cling to third place with Mateo Retegui and Ademola Lookman, but Bologna are fired up as Dan Ndoye starts with Riccardo Orsolini.

It kicks off at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo at 11.30 UK time (10.30 GMT).

This is a pure showdown for third place, because Juventus beat Lecce 2-1 to leapfrog them both, so whatever the result here, the Bianconeri are guaranteed to be in fourth at the end of this weekend.

Atalanta had been in the Scudetto race until a month ago, but now find themselves scrambling for a Champions League spot after three consecutive defeats.

Charles De Ketelaere is a new addition to the injury list with Stefan Posch, Gianluca Scamacca, Giorgio Scalvini and Marco Palestra.

Odilon Kossounou and Rafael Toloi return to the squad after their lay-offs.

Mario Pasalic steps in to support Lookman and misfiring Capocannoniere Retegui.

Bologna have been on remarkable form with six consecutive victories in all competition until the 1-1 draw with Napoli on Monday evening.

They lost only one match in all of 2025 and have one foot in the Coppa Italia Final after beating Empoli 3-0 in the semi-final first leg.

That is also because they eliminated Atalanta in the quarter-final, winning 1-0 in Bergamo back on February 4.

Bologna have a remarkable recent record against La Dea, winning four of their last five meetings and drawing the other, 1-1 in September.

Lewis Ferguson and Lukasz Skorupski sustained muscular injuries against Napoli and will be out for three weeks, with Davide Calabria also sidelined.

Santiago Castro was expected to return to the starting XI, but it’s Thijs Dallinga again completing the attack with Orsolini, Ndoye and Giovanni Fabbian.

Emil Holm and Remo Freuler are both former Atalanta players.
