The Blades are set to add two key pieces to their team before they face QPR.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has said that both Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Michael Cooper - who are set to join the Blades - will be involved against Queens Park Rangers this coming weekend.

Two very promising additions are set to be made to Wilder's Blades squad before their first home game of the season against Queens Park Rangers.

United have already made some impressive signings this summer, with Callum O'Hare, Kieffer Moore and Harrison Burrows all joining the club in what was thought could be a pretty dismal transfer window for United.

On top of that, and the talent that they brought down from the Premier League, they are now set to bolster their options with Rak-Sakyi and Cooper expected to be formally announced as new Blades in the coming days.

The Crystal Palace winger, who chose to come to Bramall Lane over the likes of Leeds United due to the opportunity to get more minutes and to work with the Blades' boss, as per The Star, was reported on Tuesday to have completed all of his obligatory media duties ahead of his move.

Cooper is set to join the club from Plymouth Argyle in a deal that will be initially worth £2 million, but could rise to £4 million with add-ons, as per Plymouth Live.

Argyle boss Wayne Rooney has said that he is disappointed that the young goalkeeper is leaving the club, but that they aren't letting him go for financial reasons.

The pair were pictured in the stands at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night when United took on Wrexham in the EFL Cup, in which they won 4-2.

Wilder gave a tongue-in-cheek response when asked about that, claiming that they just fancied watching the game before asking whether they supported their Welsh opposition.

The Blades boss then said that things were "more than advanced" in regard to those two deals. "Advanced to the point that I'm sure they'll be involved at the weekend," added Wilder when speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield.

Wilder continued: "I appreciate the support of the board and the owner. We've been smart in our business and another, when they're officially announced, it's two important signings for us that give us balance, depth and competition; that's what we're after.

"If the two boys come in they will certainly add to a group whose attitude has been really good. There's a good feeling about the place, on and off the pitch, and we just need to keep that going."

This imminent good news comes off the back of the latest bit of positivity surrounding the Blades, as their takeover saga looks to have taken a step closer to being resolved as the two negotiating parties have come to an agreement on the deal.

There's only been one round of Championship fixtures and there's still another 45 to go, but Wilder's side were one of the more impressive ones in the opening gameweek.

If they are to do well this season, it will be partly down to retaining the likes of Gus Hamer and others who are attracting attention, but their next two expected arrivals will seriously improve them.

Cooper was one of the top goalkeepers in the league last season, keeping six clean sheets in 19 games for a team that barely escaped the jaws of relegation.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Palace winger Rak-Sakyi doesn't have any experience at Championship level, but his only ever spell away from Selhurst Park with Charlton Athletic two seasons ago, where he produced 23 combined goals and assists, as a teenager, should have United fans very excited about what's to come.
