Sheffield Wednesday must have a managerial shortlist in case Danny Rohl leaves - but the Owls have been told to consider this League One manager

Former Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City boss Steven Schumacher has been touted as a possible replacement for Danny Rohl if the German leaves Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
After avoiding a possible three-window transfer ban for unpaid wages, Wednesday are now contending with the possibility of losing their manager at the end of the season.
In recent weeks Rohl has been linked to Southampton, Leicester City, and RB Leipzig, suggesting that Wednesday could be on the hunt for a new boss sooner rather than later.
After successfully leading Sheffield Wednesday away from relegation last season, Danny Rohl has continued to improve the Owls in his first full campaign.
The Owls are sat quite comfortably in the Championship table, some distance away from the relegation zone.
Whilst Wednesday’s play-off hopes have quietly faded, Rohl has still turned heads at other football clubs.
When combined with Dejphon Chansiri’s failure to pay wages on time, and the deteriorating relationship between manager and owner, many Wednesday fans believe that Rohl will move on to bigger and better things this summer.
Football League World's resident Wednesdayite Patrick already has a manager in mind if Rohl does leave Hillsborough in the coming months.
He believes Sheffield Wednesday should try and poach Bolton Wanderers manager Steven Schumacher in the event of Rohl's exit from S6.
Asked by Football League World for his ideal candidate to take charge of Wednesday in the event of Rohl’s departure, Patrick replied: “In regards to my number one choice to replace Danny Rohl if he goes in the summer, I’ve had a think about this one here.
“Who I would like and who we will get in, there’s probably a world of difference.
“But if I did have my choice, the name that popped into my head was Steven Schumacher.
“Another relatively up-and-coming manager, but he has already had a few achievements in the game.
“In his time at Plymouth he amassed quite an impressive points tally over the games he managed.
“He got them playing positive, attacking football.
“So he's got experience in managing a team at a slightly lower level, and in reality next season at Wednesday it's going to be a lower-end Championship squad, most likely fighting a relegation battle.
“So he has the experience there and would be the sort of manager I’d be looking for.”
Patrick did admit that his thinking and ambition behind suggesting Schumacher as a future Wednesday boss might not be matched by those currently running the club.
As such, FLW’s Wednesday fan pundit felt that the Owls might turn towards a manager with proven experience of dealing with a relegation battle.
He also shared doubts that managers like Schumacher would even be interested in the job, implying that the current owner’s lack of investment could lead to another boss "wasted” at Hillsborough.
“Another part of me was thinking that maybe we need a real seasoned firefighter,” Patrick explained.
“But if we go down that route, it is slightly more depressing.
“The thought is whoever we get, we end up wasting them, in the way that Danny Rohl has been completely and utterly wasted by Dejphon Chansiri.
“Whether Schumacher would want to come to a club in our current state, especially after his experience at Stoke where he left Plymouth for a historically bigger club and got harshly treated.
“But it would be quite encouraging if we were looking to a manager of his calibre and did manage to get him in the summertime.”
