Sky Sports explain why Leicester are yet to sack van Nistelrooy

After such a devastating, limp and exhaustively poor season, many spectators, fans and pundits are wondering what Ruud van Nistelrooy is still doing at Leicester City Football Club. I must admit, usually I would be one of the first ones to question that absurd fact. Although, sadly for the deteriorating state of the organisation, we already know why the Dutchman managed to cling onto his Foxes job. Basically LCFC bosses don't have the funds to sack the former Manchester United man.

Essentially, van Nistelrooy would probably be legally entitled to a ridiculously large compensate package for any 'premature' termination. We all know he's a dead man walking at Leicester, let's be honest. And appointing another head coach costs a lot too.

Nevertheless, chairman Aiyawatt 'Khun Top' Srivaddhanaprabha and director of football Jon Rudkin must surely have had the inclination to dismiss RvN. Even when considering how badly the pair have run the club, team affairs are just as shocking.

Though rumblings amongst more major media outlets differ with regard to the one-time Netherlands international star. When it comes to the east Midlanders, one typically accurate reporter is Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett. Dorsett is actually a Midlands specialist, similarly to the equally if not further respected John Percy at The Telegraph. The former has taken the time to explain why Leicester are yet to sack van Nistelrooy. Not to mention whether or not RvN would even consider staying on following a disastrous tenure so far.

Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett divulges why Leicester City are yet to sack Ruud van Nistelrooy and why he hasn't chucked in the towel either

According to Dorsett, RvN's standing and future at King Power Stadium are interestingly "up in the air" at the moment. Essentially the powers that be on Filbert Way are undecided on their squad's current manager. Whereas van Nistelrooy is also said to be unsure whether or not he wishes to continue:

"In the latest update on van Nistelrooy's position, Dorsett revealed that he held discussions with the Leicester hierarchy after the 3-0 home defeat to Newcastle United last Monday night, but it was decided that the Dutchman would continue in his role for now. It seems there is still a chance that van Nistelrooy could remain in charge at the King Power Stadium next season, but according to Dorsett, much will depend on how his side finish the season in the Premier League."
