Tottenham have granted permission for Anthony Georgiou to discuss personal terms with AEL Limassol after a deal was offered, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 23-year-old could be heading out of White Hart Lane this month after eight years at the club.
A Tottenham source has Football Insider that the club have allowed Georgiou to hold talks with Cypriot league leaders Limassol after they offered him a contract.
It is increasingly likely the Cyprus international will seal a cut-price January transfer.
This site broke the news last week that Limassol had opened talks with the Spurs man over a move ahead of the 1 February window cut-off.
An exit for Georgiou would come less than two years after he signed a new contract with Tottenham.
That is due to expire in the summer and there is little prospect of the youngster, who can play wide or central midfield, landing a new deal.
Georgiou has made just a single first-team appearance, which came in the Champions League in 2017 when Mauricio Pochettino was manager.
He was among seven young players at the club included in Pochettino’s pre-season squad in the summer of 2019 but was unable to make a breakthrough.
Georgiou had two spells out on loan last season, at Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers.
But he was unable to make a major impression at either of the League One clubs.
The eight-times international, who joined Spurs in 2013 from the Watford academy, also previously had a loan spell at Levante in Spain.
