Southampton complete impressive loan signing of Arsenal winger Lia | OneFootball

Southampton have completed the impressive signing of Arsenal winger Vivienne Lia on a loan deal until the end of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Saints this morning.

The 18-year-old joins Southampton fresh from signing her first professional contract with Arsenal.

Lia has been with The Gunners for the last four years. She has successfully made the step up from the Arsenal academy to the fringes of the first team squad and she has already made two senior appearances for the North Londoners.

If the youngster is to become a regular member of the Arsenal squad, she needs to get more experience under her belt. She will be hoping to enjoy some much-needed senior minutes during her loan spell in the Barclays Women’s Championship with Southampton.

After signing on with Southampton, Lia said “I’m excited to get started of course, I feel like this will be a really good part of my development.

“The Championship has been a league I’ve been looking at to help my development a lot. I think it’s a really challenging league and it’s very tight at the moment, so it’s exciting to come into that and compete against great players as well.”

Lia is Southampton’s third signing of the January transfer window.
