Tottenham’s 21-year-old loanee Josh Keeley is quietly emerging as a standout in League One and Southampton can consider bringing him on board.

It's quite natural that once a club starts underperforming, questions and criticisms follow. Well, that's what Southampton has been enduring these days, with speculations ranging from their on-field failures to their poor recruitment strategy recently.

Take, for instance, the latest confrontation about Southampton's scattergun forward signings approach.

Now, not to boast, but it's rare to hear of particularly this issue in the Saints' backline. Well, how could one? After all, if there's one department Southampton has been rocking in recruits, it's been their defence, and particularly, keeping.

The reason's simple, it's no risk transfers directly from the Premier League Big Six. Just like in 2022, Southampton signed Man City prodigy Gavin Bazunu, and last summer they brought in Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale.

Excitingly, the Saints are to keep this tradition alive as now they are touted to make a move for Tottenham prodigy Josh Keeley.

Currently, on a loan at Leyton Orient in League One, Keeley has been quietly turning heads with a string of consistent, standout performances. Having conceded just 29 times in 32 consecutive appearances, naturally, he becomes a viable option for clubs like Southampton, who have been bashed enough this season.

Keeley tipped to succeed Ramsdale in Southampton's goal next season

Interestingly, as per EFL Analysis, Josh Keeley seems an ideal option for the Saints, where both parties are to benefit through a deal.

In case you don't know, amidst Ramsdale's departure rumours, there has been an upsurge by the Saints fans against Gavin Bazunu being the priority number 1 next season. Well, that's where Keeley's move comes into the picture, who is being tipped to be the next starter.

Further, a Saints switch could be a promising one for Keeley given the club's youth focus, where he can naturally transition from the third division football to the Championship.

Doesn't Keeley's profile feel tailor-made for a Southampton move? Hopefully, it happens that way as he continues the tradition of the Tottenham-Saints transfer bridge now that Walker-Peters is leaving soon.
