With Milan Skriniar currently on loan at Fenerbahce and seemingly on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain, the club could be eyeing a new center-back this summer. While the move isn’t official yet, all signs point to PSG preparing for life without Skriniar, making a replacement a real possibility.

Back in February, Anfield Watch reported PSG’s strong interest in Ibrahima Konate, adding another layer to the story as questions swirl about the defender’s future.

A Paris native, Konate has become a top target for PSG, who are reportedly eager to bring him back to his hometown. He came up through the youth system at Paris FC before joining RB Leipzig and now appears to be firmly in PSG’s sights.

Real Madrid are still looking to bring in a center-back this summer, according to Marca. Strengthening the defense is said to be a top priority for the LaLiga giants, and they could look to capitalize on players with uncertain contract situations.

One name reportedly on their radar is Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, 25, especially if he doesn’t sign a new deal at Anfield next season.

If Liverpool and Ibrahima Konate can’t find common ground on a new contract, the club could look to cash in this summer to reinvest in their squad.

According to Hamzah Khalique-Loonat of The Times, Konate’s agent surprised Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, by asking for a 150 percent pay increase—bumping his wages to £200,000 a week. That would make him the club’s third-highest earner, behind only Mohamed Salah (£350,000) and Virgil van Dijk (£220,000).

Talks have stalled with a sizeable gap between Konate’s demands and what Liverpool are willing to offer. While negotiations drag on, Real Madrid and PSG are keeping a close eye on the situation.
