Sports presenter Richard Keys has suggested Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is still trying to secrently leave the club despite being appointed head coach just two months ago.

United suffered a fifth defeat in seven home games last Sunday, as they were beaten 2-0 by Crystal Palace.

The result left the Red Devils languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table.

Towards the end of January, Keys argued that Amorim was trying to get sacked from his role at Old Trafford. He insisted that United should grant him that wish.

Keys made these comments after United slipped to a 3-1 loss vs. Brighton and Hove Albion.

Now, Keys has reiterated this belief, indicating that he thinks Amorim regrets succeeding Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout.

He wrote in his blog, “There’s not much to say about United this week. Poor again wasn’t it?”

“But it always is when they have to take a game to the opposition. If they’re sitting in a low block and stopping the opposition from playing they’re ok.”

“If they have to take a game to teams they struggle, which is why they’ve now lost seven home games.”

He added “As for playing Mainoo as a false 9? And you’ve got Hojlund and Zirkzee available. What are you actually saying to those players with a decision like that?”

“I’m afraid Amorim looks totally out of his depth. I wanted it to work, but it isn’t. He’s going to have to change and learn fast IF he wants to stay in the job. I’m still not convinced he doesn’t want out already.”

United are back in action on Friday when they host Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
