Officials at Jagiellonia Białystok are reportedly struggling to negotiate a deal with the city over the use of the Stadion Miejski for the upcoming season.
As per reports from journalist Kuba Seweryn this morning, the club have omitted to submit an offer to the city for the lease to the stadium for the 2023/24 campaign. With less than six weeks until the start of the Ekstraklasa season, it leaves the Żółto-Czerwoni unsure as to where their home games will be played.
Some reports have stated that the club have sounded out the possibility of playing their home games at the Ulica Konwiktorska stadium of 1 Liga side Polonia Warsaw – some 180 kilometres southwest of Białystok!
Fortunately for Jagiellonia fans, any mention of a move to the capital is likely to be only a scare tactic for the club, who know the power they hold over city officials. With Polish parliamentary elections to be held before the end of the year, it is extremely unlikely that the city will not back down and allow the club to remain in the city.
