Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Standard Liege are working on trying to bring Moussa Djenepo back to Belgium. the 25-year-old Malian international is said to be keen to return to Standard, with talks centered around a three-year-deal. However, his wages at Southampton are far higher than the Belgian side can afford. Djenepo has yet to make an appearance for the side during the 2023/2024 Championship season.

Between 2017 and the summer of 2019, the winger made 61 appearances for Standard and scored 12 goals. This led Southampton to sign the forward in the summer of 2019, where he has gone on to make 91 appearances and score five goals, alongside four assists in the Premier League.
