Bukayo Saka has done it again in the north London derby, while Kai Havertz has proved his worth to Arsenal once more with another crucial goal in a stunning first half for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The England international provided a goal and assist, before Havertz popped up with another big strike, to put them in absolute dreamland at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,
Arteta’s men and set piece success is something we have become used to this season, and they repeated the trick from two corners against their greatest rivals.
In what are both becoming growing trends, two of Gunners’ three first-half goals came from set pieces – no side has scored more in the Premier League this season – and the first was a Spurs own goal in the derby – their third in a row against their greatest rivals, all of which have been “assisted” by Saka.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg was the fall guy this time, heading in the England forward’s dangerous in-swinging corner in the 15th minute.
Spurs’ plight was only heightened when Saka smashed home a second for his side just over 10 minutes later, like he did from the penalty spot in their first game in September, which made him the first English player to score home and away for Arsenal in a league campaign since Ian Wright in 1993/94.
It also came mere moments after Micky van de Ven saw a potential equaliser ruled out for the tightest of offsides.
Havertz then headed in a header from a Declan Rice corner as specialist coach Nicolas Jover looked on smiling from the touchline.
In possibly the biggest game between the two clubs in 20 years, things could not be going for the better for Arsenal.
