Inter Milan and Atalanta remain firmly embroiled in a dramatic Serie A title tussle with table-topping Napoli at the halfway point of the campaign.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, only Gian Piero Gasperini’s charges can match Inter’s scoring potential.
Despite leading the way in Italy’s top flight, scoring hasn’t been Napoli’s strong suit under Antonio Conte.
Indeed, they’ve only scored 35 league goals this term at an average of 1.66 per game.
For comparison, Simone Inzaghi’s men boast 51 from 20, making for an average of 2.55 per match.
Moreover, the reigning champions are the only team in Serie A to smash a 50-goal barrier in 2024/25 so far.
Not even Atalanta can go toe-to-toe with Lautaro Martinez and his teammates.
However, they’re Inter’s closest competitors with 46 goals from 21 outings, translating to 2.19 per game.
Meanwhile, Inter became only the third Serie A team since the 1960s to hit a 50-goal landmark at this stage of a top-flight season.
They achieved that feat under Inzaghi in 2021/22, while the Italian manager helped Lazio do that in 2017/18.
Therefore, it’s fair to say that Inzaghi has turned Inter into a goalscoring machine.
