Liverpool are in a great run of form at the moment and whilst transfer talk may be quiet in terms of incomings, it seems an outgoing deal may be in process.

As reported by Spanish outlet Marca, Las Palmas are said to be ‘negotiating the arrival’ of Stefan Bajcetic on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

The midfielder is already being loaned to Red Bull Salzburg but given the departure of former Reds’ assistant manager Pep Lijnders as their boss and the fact that he’s been benched for four of their past six league games – it may not longer be viewed as the best option.

A move to Austria was supposed to allow the 20-year-old to prove both his form and fitness, with illness being the only reason any games have been missed this season – it’s thankfully been a rather clean bill of health for our academy graduate.

However, a lack of game time of late could provide concern for the talents of the young Spaniard or whether he’s currently at the right club.

It was reported in The Athletic that Arne Slot is said to be unwilling to recall the Spain Under-21 international to his squad, as it becomes clear we would rather he was playing football.

If that’s not the case in the Austrian Bundesliga then perhaps a move to La Liga would be more appealing for all parties.

After a friendly against the team from the capital of Gran Canaria this summer, it seems we have a positive relationship with them and this could make sense.

Fabrizio Romano also stated that Real Betis were in advanced talks, so we may have to wait and see which Spanish club can land his signature.

For now though, it feels like a matter of where the defensive midfielder is headed and not a matter of if.
