Nurnberg have triggered their €18m option to buy on PAOK striker Stefanos Tzimas, who will then join Brighton in the summer for a reported €25m plus add-ons, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Tzimas has been the front and centre of transfer discussions this month with Liverpool, Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt all showing an interest in signing the 19-year-old, who has scored 10 and created two in 17 2. Bundesliga games for Nurnberg this season.
As Plettenberg reports, Tzimas has already completed a medical and has signed a long-term contract with Brighton, which will start in the summer – the Greece youth international will see out the season in the German second division.
It’s quite the coup for Brighton, who beat Liverpool to the signing of Tzimas. Liverpool made contact with Nurnberg earlier in the month to set out their intentions to sign the Greek forward, and the Premier League club also made contact with the player’s representatives.
