Stephan El Shaarawy and Nicolo Casale sue Fabrizio Corona amidst illegal betting allegations | OneFootball

Roma star Stephan El Shaarawy and Lazio defender Nicolo Casale are set to sue paparazzi Fabrizio Corona, who accused the player of being involved in the illegal betting scandal.

After initially accusing Nicolo Fagioli, Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo of illegal betting, Corona mentioned new names in the saga. Those names were El Shaarawy, Lazio’s Nicolo Casale and Juventus’ Federico Gatti. But the lawyers of the first two players have made it clear the players aren’t involved at all.

El Shaarawy has now spoken out through his lawyers, confirming that his team are suing Corona and Striscia, the outlet that worked with the journalist to break the news.

Not just El Shaarawy, but Casale has also confirmed that Corona and Striscia will be sued by his team, with the player’s lawyers stating that the defender has never been involved in betting and has never been associated with it in his career. So far, no investigations have been opened against the two players by the Prosecutor’s office.
