With Sehrou Guirassy’s (28) transfer to Borussia Dortmund now official, VfB Stuttgart are looking for a suitable replacement for their gifted striker and have set their sights on Stade Rennais’ Arnaud Kalimuendo (22).

The next few weeks could be particularly busy for Kalimuendo. While the Rennes striker will compete in the Olympics with France, his future could be decided, with Rennes open to letting him go should a convincing offer come. Last season, the 22-year-old logged 15 goals in 41 games across all competitions and could be tempted by Champions League football. If AS Monaco added the name of the former Paris Saint-Germain centre forward to their shortlist as an alternative to Georges Mikautadze (23), Kalimuendo could have his first experience abroad, with Bundesliga calling for him.

According to a report by L’Équipe, Stuttgart have made the signing of Kalimuendo one of their priorities this summer. The Bundesliga outfit haven’t sent an offer to the Brittany side, and wants to find an agreement on personal terms with the centre forward first. With still three years to spare on Kalimuendo’s contract, Rennes will listen to offers only if they meet the €25M invested two years ago.
