Everton entertained Liverpool at Goodison Park earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a win on their travels in the Premier League. The Toffees made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 27th minute when Jarrad Branthwaite scored for the home team. Sean Dyche’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin killed the game off in the 58th minute as Everton secured a brilliant 2-0 win in the Merseyside derby.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the match against the Reds.
GK: Jordan Pickford – 8/10
He made a lot of solid saves at the back and earned a well-deserved clean sheet at home.
RB: Ben Godfrey – 8/10
Godfrey gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the pitch and was a threat at the other end as well.
CB: James Tarkowski – 8.5/10
He didn’t put a foot wrong defensively and was an aerial threat inside the opponent’s penalty area.
CB: Jarrad Branthwaite – 8/10
Branthwaite cleared his lines when he could and did enough to secure the shutout. He also scored a scrappy goal in the first half.

LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6.5/10
He was solid at the back in the first half and was substituted at the half-time break.
RW: Jack Harrison – 8/10
Harrison was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: James Garner – 7.5/10
He earned the ball back twice and a couple of promising runs with the ball.
CM: Idrissa Gueye – 7/10
Gueye anchored the midfield really well and was full of energy at the centre of the park.
LW: Dwight McNeil – 8/10
McNeil created a lot of good chances for his teammates and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
CAM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 7/10
He put in a hard-working performance in the opponent’s half.
ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 8/10
Calvert-Lewin was a real handful for the Liverpool defenders and scored a good goal in the second half.
Substitutes:
LB: Ashley Young – 6.5/10
He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half.
He added some energy to Everton’s midfield.
