There’s been no suggestion from the Chelsea hierarchy they are disappointed with the job Enzo Maresca has done so far according to The Athletic.
Maresca was announced as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor in the summer, with the Italian penning a five year deal at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues made a brilliant start to the season and had the chance to momentarily go top of the league in December, but their form has taken a dip.
Chelsea are currently on a difficult run with just two wins in their last eight league games, and they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Brighton on Saturday night.
Fans were irked by Maresca’s comments after their exit, and the free flowing football seen in the first half of the season is somewhat of a distant memory.

There were always going to be difficulties, and Maresca himself admitted he expected a dip in form, but the collective drop off has been quite alarming.
The 45-year-old needs to find a way to rectify the situation quickly, with Chelsea’s season unravelling fast, and the Conference League is now the club’s only chance of silverware.
Fans are becoming increasingly disgruntled, and whilst Maresca isn’t solely to blame, he is part of the problem, but can also be a huge part of the solution.

Some fans have even called for him to go after the cup exit, which is a bit premature, but The Athletic have reported there’s no suggestion anyone within the hierarchy is disappointed with the job Maresca has done so far.
The reports adds that because of the Club World Cup this season has been viewed as two seasons in one, but with the Blues out of both domestic cups the pressure has ramped up on Maresca and he needs to find a way to respond.
