Whether it be FIFA or its successor EA FC, one thing has always been the same on football's most lucrative video game: pace is king.
No matter what changes EA Sports make from year to year, speed is always of paramount importance when players are assembling their Ultimate Team squads or Career Mode dynasties.
The significance of unadulterated pace is especially noticeable in online game modes, with Adama Traore likely to outscore Harry Kane in Ultimate Team due to his freakish physical stats. That's the way it has always been and likely the way it always will be.
To avoid getting rinsed by speed demons, it's a requirement that you have some agile ballers across your team to fight fire with fire. If you can't beat them, join them.
Here are the fastest players in EA FC 25 by position.

Not only does new Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe lead the way with his 91 overall rating, he also tops the speed charts. 97 pace makes the Frenchman nigh-on impossible to stop, especially when you consider he also boasts 90 shooting and 92 dribbling.
Mbappe's Real Madrid teammate Vinicus Junior isn't far off, though. His 95 pace can only be bettered by the 2018 World Cup winner and Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, who has 96 pace on this year's game.
Forwards naturally dominate the rankings with Inaki Williams and Rafael Leao both boasting 94 pace, while Trinity Rodman and Rosemonde Kouassi of Washington Spirit are the only female footballers in the top ten.
But there are two defenders that breach the top ten and they're both regularly seen marauding down the left flank. Both Milan's Theo Hernandez and Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies have been handed 95 pace to tackle those dastardly wingers.

Eight of the fastest players in EA FC 25 are forwards so there's not much new in this list. However, two more speedsters enter the top ten here, with 89-rated Sophia Smith of Portland Thorns sneaking in with 93 pace. She's tough to stop in this year's game.
Lyon Femenin, who reached last season's Champions League final, signed 94-pace Tabitha Chawinga over the summer period. The Malawi international has spent the last two seasons on loan in Europe but has actually made the move to Lyon from Japan.

Naturally, many of EA FC 25's midfielders can't compete with the nimble sprinters that dominate the flanks, but there are still some speedy men and women in the engine room. Rafa Silva is far and away the fastest, taking his 93 pace to Besiktas from Benfica over the summer and shifting to a CAM in-game.
Ansu Fati is really a winger but has been given the starting position of CAM this year as well. The 77-rated Barcelona man, who spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, has been given 89 pace, which is matched by Eintracht Frankfurt Frauen midfielder Geraldine Reuteler.
Federico Valverde is a member of 'The Gullit Gang' - players who have 80+ in all six key stat groups - and his 88 rating is complemented by his 88 pace. The Real Madrid side is frighteningly quick in EA FC 25.
Columbus Crew's Diego Rossi and Milan's Yunus Musah are the lowest-rated midfielders to feature in the top ten. While both just 75 overall, their 88 pace makes them valuable assets regardless.
NJ/NY Gotham boast two entrants in the top ten, with both Rose Lavelle and Crystal Dunn burning midfielders with their pace in the National Women's Soccer League.

To stifle those terrifyingly agile forwards there are some impressively athletic defenders. Most are full-backs, with Jeremiah St. Juste of Sporting CP the only CB to feature in the top ten. The Dutchman can also play RB.
Joining the aforementioned Hernandez and Davies is Alejandro Balde of Barcelona, whose 91 pace will come in handy when dealing with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Rodrygo. Former Barca defender Sergino Dest, now of PSV Eindhoven, boasts the same pace rating.
Former Al Hilal defender Saud Abdulhamid secured an impressive move to Roma over the summer and he will face off against Lazio's speedy Manuel Lazzari in the Derby della Capitale this season in Serie A.
