The Foxes travel to the VBS Community Stadium to take on The Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
Crystal Palace’s relegation from the Barclays Women’s Super League has already been confirmed but Leicester City boss Miquel does not see the South Londoners as an easy opponent.
“It’s not an easy game,” Miquel said when speaking in the pre-match press conference. “Just because you’re playing the team that has been relegated, it doesn’t mean that you’re going to win. It could mean the opposite because now, they’re going to play with freedom.
“In this situation, players have got to show themselves because they might want to look for a new project [in the summer].
“For me, it is even harder to play them now. We know that they have no pressure, so we have to be at our best level if we are to make sure that we perform better than them.”
Leicester City were defeated 2-0 in the reverse fixture and Miquel says that revenge is on the agenda this weekend.
She said “Yes, definitely [want revenge]. That’s the objective because in the first half of the season, it was the moment where we started declining. It was also the week where we got a lot of the long-term injuries.
“The game against Crystal Palace marked the beginning of the struggle, so it would be nice to overcome the feeling that we had last time and perform better.”
Victory in South London would see Leicester City set a new top flight points record and Miquel highlighted the importance of continuous improvement.
She said “It has always been the goal for us from the start of the season. We wanted to do better than last season and the previous seasons.
“This team has been evolving by doing slightly better over the last four seasons. Our main focus is on doing better. Even if it is a very slow process over the years, what is important is that we progress. It is very important for us to do our best in these last two games.”
Leicester City’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Crystal Palace kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
