Thiago Motta on Atalanta’s shortlist for managers | OneFootball

Serie A side Atalanta include former Juventus manager Thiago Motta in their shortlist for managers.

According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Thiago Motta is in the running for the Atalanta managerial role as the club starts listing potential candidates to prepare for the event of Gian Piero Gasperini’s departure.

Out of respect for Gasperini, La Dea have not contacted any potential managers till now and will give him time to respond before officially approaching Motta or others.

This latest development comes after news broke out that Maurizio Sarri is set for a return to Lazio and Igor Tudor’s increasing chances of renewing with Juventus.

Despite an underwhelming tenure with the Bianconeri, Motta has proven himself with Bologna and Atalanta view him as the man who can succeed Gasperini, who has been at the club for nine years now.

Gasperini is currently meeting with Roma representatives and might leave Atalanta ahead of the new season.
