And as Hammers fans were settling back into their seats at the London Stadium hoping their side could overturn a 2-1 deficit, a worrying turn of events was unfolding.

Boss Julen Lopetegui was forced into making a substitute as Łukasz Fabiański replaced goalkeeper Alphonse Areola due to injury.
Fabiański's last outing was not a happy one, either.
He let in five goals in a 5-2 loss to Crystal Palace back in April.
