‘This club has given me everything’ – Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsí speaks out for the first time since renewing his contract | OneFootball

Earlier today, Barcelona announced that their 18-year-old centre-back Pau Cubarsí has signed a new contract at the club, keeping him there until at least 2029.

The young star has had a real breakout campaign so far this season, having made 36 appearances across all competitions for Hansi Flick’s side so far.

As per Mundo Deportivo, the young Catalan star shared his excitement at renewing for his boyhood club. “I’m very happy to renew with the club of my life, the club that has given me everything,” Cubarsí said.

Both my teammates and all the staff have helped me in all areas and have made me the player I am today,” he added: “I thank them for everything they have given me.”

This new deal is a real show of commitment from a club like Barcelona to such a young star, as at just 18 and with so many games already under his belt, Cubarsí looks to be one for the long haul.

This renewal is just the latest in a long line of renewals as well, as the likes of Gavi, Pedri and Ronald Araújo have all put pen to paper in recent weeks as well.
