Serie A side Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders cleared up the fog on his future.
Speaking in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio after The Netherlands’ 4-0 victory over Hungary in the Nations League, Tijjani Reijnders informed that talks were progressing with Milan regarding his contract renewal. He said, “We are discussing the renewal at the moment, but I can’t say more.”
The 26-year-old joined the Rossoneri on a five-year deal until 2028 from AZ Alkmaar last summer and since then, he has played a crucial role in his team’s midfield. Reijnders admitted that he would like to play the majority of his career in Milan, at least his prime and then potentially leave. He said: “However, I see myself at Milan until I’m in my thirties”
Reijnders sent a clear message to his teammates and fans alike that they are gunning for a top-eight finish in the Champions League standings as they have control over their fate. The Milan man remarked: “In the Champions League we have our destiny in our hands, but our goal is to finish in the top eight. The only way to do that is by winning matches.”
