Roma v AC Milan will be our last away game of Serie A 2024/25, and it is a game that Rossoneri fans always look out for, even if just to watch an incredible array of players. Let's get ready for kick-off with our Time Machine, by looking back at a game not too long ago, that proved to be very important in later months.

It was Halloween 2021, and Stefano Pioli's Rossoneri came to the capital with one of our best ever starts in the league: nine wins and one draw (away at Juve) in our first ten games in Serie A 2021/22. It was a run of form that meant we were first at the time (equal with Napoli on 28 points), after a very close win against Torino midweek. Roma were also doing well under José Mourinho, staying unbeaten at home and holding fourth place. Both teams opted for a 4-2-3-1, and it was set up to be a lively and tense match. After a balanced start to the first half with chances for both sides, in the 26th minute, the Rossoneri got in front. Zlatan Ibrahimović scored a great goal: the Swedish striker opened the scoring with a powerful right-footed free kick that gave Rui Patricio no chance. Pioli's boys then found a second in the 37th minute through Leão, but this was then ruled out as Ibra was offside in the build up.

After another goal was ruled out for offside - this time for Zlatan - Pioli's boys made it two early on in the second half, when in the 54th minute Franck Kessie converted a penalty after Ibañez's foul on Ibrahimović. A two-goal lead, and then plain sailing? Incorrect. In the 65th minute there was a big moment, when Theo Hernández got a second yellow, leaving the Rossoneri a man down. Roma then started applying the pressure, but AC Milan were defending with determination and sacrifice: Kjær's block from Zaniolo's header in the 82nd minute was particularly memorable. The Giallorossi did get one back in stoppage time through el Shaaraway, but Tătăruşanu pulled off a great save to deny Pérez and to deny Roma a draw. Maresca blew the final whistle and it ended 2-1 to AC Milan, which was the Rossoneri's tenth win in the season which ended with claiming our 19th Scudetto.
