Away at WAC on Sunday

Back to league business. There is no time to rue our UEFA Champions League defeat, and that's just the way we would want it. We are to finish the week away at WAC on Sunday 27 October at 14:30 CEST, and we are looking for a win to get us back on track.

The opponents, who face a cup last 16 tie next week along with us, are currently among the top teams in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga! Under the guidance of Dietmar Kühbauer, the Wolves are up in third - level on points with us (after playing two additional matches). There is no arguing with their 3-0 win over Sturm Graz and 5-1 success at LASK. After a short blip, WAC made a good start again after the international break with three points last week in a 1-0 win at Blau-Weiß Linz.

We will be aiming to keep pace with SK Sturm Graz at the top of the table, with our current six-point gap being one we could wipe out when we play our two games in hand in December. Hopefully it won't have to be as dramatic as our 2-1 home win over SCR Altach, in which a late double saw us turn the game around and seal three points. It's all about taking another win!

The clash is be broadcast on Sky Sport Austria as usual. On the website, we will provide our usual live text updates. Fans coming to support us can find all the key information here:

We have to recover as well as possible after the Champions League match on Sunday so that we are fully fresh for the difficult clash on Sunday. WAC have put in some really good performances in the league. They are extremely dangerous from set pieces and are just ahead of us in the table. We know how we can cause them problems though and want to take three points back to Salzburg.

Pepijn Lijnders

The positive thing is that we can play again on Sunday and have a chance to do better. The physical strain from our most recent Champions League match shouldn't be a factor. It's more important that we are mentally fully at it and prepared to face difficult opponents. WAC are doing really well so far, they are very determined and have good individual quality. We have to be wide awake, for certain.
