Casemiro and Marcus Rashford can see the benefits of not being called up for international duty.
The Manchester United duo were among the first-team group trained under Ruben Amorim for the first time at Carrington on Monday.
While 11 senior players took part in the training session, Amorim took the opportunity to promote several players from the academy.
These players are getting to show their worth to the new head coach early on and that should give them all a better chance of featuring in Sunday’s game against Ipswich Town.
Casemiro could start in midfield since Manuel Ugarte is not expected to return from international duty until later in the week.
Meanwhile, Rashford could stake a claim to start in the centre-forward role, with Rasmus Hojlund in a similar boat to Ugarte.

Casemiro and Rashford wasted no time letting everyone know that they enjoyed their first session under Amorim on Monday.
Rashford, who is trying to get back to his best form, took to Instagram with a story captioned: “Top session today.”
Fans were quick to point out how these posts were a rarity under previous management.
Echoing Rashford’s thoughts, Casemiro wrote on X: “Top training.”
It bodes well for United that the players are enjoying the training methods under Amorim, but it’s early days and we won’t know if it’s working until United are winning games consecutively.
Half the battle for Amorim will be winning these players over and keeping them on side. The rest of his task will be implementing a style of play that brings success to Old Trafford.
Amorim told in-house club media that he is relaxed about the job ahead of him, despite having a lot of issues to address with a smaller transfer budget.
The head coach will be expected to make the most of what he has at his disposal until the end of the season at least.
