Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon is one of the names on Fenerbahce SK’s shortlist of targets as they look to reinforce their left-back position, according to Turkish outlet Sabah.

The 27-year-old has found game time hard to come by for Spurs and has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou reportedly doesn’t have Reguilon in his plans and has ostracised him from the first team, opting for Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, and Djed Spence as cover.

He did not travel with the club for pre-season and has not played a single minute of competitive football this term.

Fenerbahce, led by Jose Mourinho, who signed Reguilon for Spurs during his short-lived tenure in north London, could offer him an escape route from this nightmare.

Fenerbahce left-back Jayden Oosterwolde is out for the season with an ACL injury. They need fresh options to reinvigorate their backline and could turn to the Spaniard.

Besides Reguilon, the Turkish giants have Bologna’s Juan Miranda, Antonino Gallo of Lecce, and Atletico Madrid hardman Reinildo Mandava, struggling for game time in the Spanish capital, on their radar.

With Reguilon’s future uncertain at Tottenham, the club should proactively seek a long-term successor for Ben Davies and competition for Destiny Udogie.

Davies has been a reliable performer, but his age (31) and potential decline warrant strategic planning. Investing in a promising young left-back would bolster the squad and provide healthy competition.

There are several exciting options for Spurs to consider, like Lecce man Patrick Dorgu, underused Real Madrid starlet Fran Garcia, and Manchester United academy product Harry Amass, if they continue to ignore him despite glaring issues at left-back.

They can all co-exist with Udogie. Their youthful energy and potential for growth align with Tottenham’s vision. By securing a talented left-back, Spurs can ensure defensive stability and offensive creativity on the left flank for years.
