Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (36) is edging closer to a move to Serie A side SS Lazio, according to a report from L’Equipe. The 36-year-old is entering his final year year of contract with the Premier League side. Nevertheless, the French outlet reports that Tottenham would be keen to facilitate Lloris’ move to the Italian capital by terminating his contract, and understands that the North Londoners and Lazio are close to finding an agreement in principle.
The Serie A side looks to have anticipated the 2018 World Cup winner’s signing in selling Portuguese goalkeeper Luís Maximiano to Almeria. Tottenham also planned for Lloris’ end to his 13-year stay in London with the signing of Italian shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario. The 36-year-old goalkeeper has played 447 games with the Spurs. The former OGC Nice youth product is set to sign a two-year contract with Maurizio Sarri’s side. Lazio start their Serie A campaign this Saturday at Lecce.
