Tottenham Hotspur are expected to bring a new attacker to the club in the summer transfer window to bolster their attacking unit. They have identified Cercle Brugge striker Kevin Denkey as a viable option in that aspect as per Foot Mercato.

The Belgian side is ready to sell the striker for a reported fee of €20 million. However, Spurs aren’t alone in the race. German side Borussia Dortmund are also keeping tabs on the youngster and wants to lure him away ahead of next season.

Kevin Denkey is in red-hot form

Kevin Denkey was born in Togo before he permanently moved to France to join Nimes youth academy. He then joined Beziers before switching to his current club Cercle Brugge in 2021. Since then, he has become an integral part of their squad.

The 23-year-old has been running riots this season for the Belgian club. He has featured in 27 games so far and already netted 23 goals for his side. He is averaging a whopping 4.4 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).

His numbers are a testimony of his incredible finishing skills. Denkey is also good at providing through balls and dribbling with the ball. However, he needs to work on his physical as he is not up to the mark when it comes to holding on to the ball or winning aerial duels.

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to bring in a new striker to replace Harry Kane. Although reports emerged that the veteran striker is open to returning to England, the club is unlikely to spend a big sum on him. They will definitely look to bring someone who can serve the club in the long run.

Richarlison has shown form in recent months but the management isn’t convinced with the Brazilian. Whether he stays or leaves, the club is determined to bring in a versatile attacker this summer.

The Spurs’ interest in Kevin Denkey is justifiable as the player is breathing fire in the Belgian league. However, their standards of football cannot be compared to the competitive English league. Also, the striker might suffer against physically strong defenders.
