FC Barcelona are constantly on the lookout for ways to improve their squad. After all, the Catalan club is expected to face off against the toughest of opponents across various competitions each season. As such, Barcelona always needs to have a strong squad available at their disposal.

However, due to their financial situation and the limitations as well as restrictions imposed on the club, bringing new players in is often quite complicated. Fortunately for Barcelona, however, one way for them to make it happen is to offload players that they believe the club does not need for now.

One such player could be Ansu Fati, a 22-year-old Spanish forward who has barely seen any involvement this season under Hansi Flick. In fact, in four consecutive games, he was not even in the final squad list for the last four matches played by the German coach’s team. He has only been included in the latest squad list for the SL Benfica game due to Dani Olmo’s untimely injury.

Now, as per Mundo Deportivo, there may be a new suitor for the Spaniard as well. With Barcelona hoping to let go of the player and potentially bring other players in during the final two weeks of the winter transfer window, the emergence of Tottenham Hotspur as a suitor could be a real blessing.

As per the latest update, the Premier League side could be interested in acquiring the player on loan until the end of the season and the deal could also include an option to buy the player permanently. That last part is reportedly what is unsettling Fati, as the youngster still wants to succeed at Barcelona.

Already having experience in the English First Division with Brighton, the Premier League is not completely alien to the young Barcelona forward. However, his aspirations still lie with the Catalan club, despite their efforts to offload him. Only time will now tell what ends up happening between now and the end of the winter transfer window.
