Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United: How to Watch the UEFA Europa League Final

As the domestic dust settles on a chaotic Premier League season, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur find themselves at a crossroads. The Estadio de San Mamés in Bilbao will serve as the battleground for the UEFA Europa League Final, offering both clubs a rare chance to salvage pride after a year to forget in the league.
Neither side has enjoyed smooth sailing this term. Tottenham Hotspur, languishing in 17th, and Manchester United, one point better off in 16th, have endured turbulent campaigns marred by inconsistency, injury crises, and managerial pressure. Yet, in this competition, redemption beckons. Victory would not only bring silverware but also usher the winner into next season’s UEFA Champions League – a financial and sporting lifeline.
For Spurs, the stakes feel particularly high. Not since 2008, when they hoisted the Carling Cup, have the North Londoners tasted success. Ange Postecoglou, despite a season that has left many questioning his methods, could etch his name into club folklore with a European triumph.

It is not without obstacles. Injuries have ravaged the squad. James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Lucas Bergvall are all sidelined. Bergvall, notably, travelled with the team to Bilbao but failed to recover from an ankle issue. On the positive side, captain Son Heung-Min is expected to start after overcoming a foot injury.
Postecoglou, however, remains defiant and focused. “Why do I care about what Man Utd think?” he quipped when asked about his opponents. The Australian’s eyes are firmly set on his own squad’s destiny.
Manchester United, under the stewardship of Ruben Amorim, are in the midst of a transformation. Amorim, still relatively new to English football, has brought a tactical clarity long absent at Old Trafford. However, like his opposite number, he faces squad selection headaches. Matthijs de Ligt has failed to recover in time and misses out entirely. There is brighter news elsewhere, as Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, and Joshua Zirkzee were all seen in training and are likely to feature.
While United’s pedigree in European competition is well known, recent meetings with Spurs tell a different story. Across three matches this season, Tottenham are unbeaten against their Mancunian rivals. That psychological edge, coupled with their fresher attacking options, could prove decisive.
Still, in finals, pedigree often trumps form. United, winners of the UEFA Europa League in 2017, will feel they know what it takes. Tottenham, for all their flair and fanfare, are chasing their first-ever major European trophy since 1984.

For Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, this is more than just another final. It is an opportunity to reset narratives, galvanise support, and, perhaps most critically, reintroduce themselves to European football’s top table. Win, and the flaws of a dismal domestic season are momentarily forgiven. Lose, and the post-mortem begins immediately.
Both Amorim and Postecoglou know what is at stake. Only one will emerge vindicated. The other, left to contemplate what might have been, may not have the luxury of time on their side.
