Paris Saint-Germain looked to strengthen their midfield during last summer’s transfer window and identified Palmeiras midfielder Richard Ríos as a key target.
The Colombian caught the club’s attention with his standout performances at the 2024 Copa América, where he played a crucial role in his nation’s run to the final before falling to Argentina.
Last August, Antena 2 Deportes reported that PSG submitted a €20 million bid for the 24-year-old, who had also drawn interest from AC Milan and Manchester United.
Despite PSG’s pursuit, UOL revealed that Palmeiras’ president made it clear to the board that Ríos was not for sale—even as the Ligue 1 club pushed their offer to €20 million.

On Sunday, CaughtOffside reported, citing sources, that West Ham, Nottingham Forest, and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the Colombian midfielder’s progress and are prepared to make a move in the summer.
However, all three Premier League clubs are unwilling to meet his €100 million release clause. Tottenham had shown strong interest in signing Rios during the January window, but negotiations never advanced beyond initial talks as Palmeiras remained firm on demanding the full release clause.
