One of them is Son Heung-Min, the Tottenham superstar, who has recently hailed the Barcelona attacker as one of the top five players in the world.

Yamal among world’s best wingers: Son

In a recent interaction, Son was asked about Yamal and whether or not he is among the top 20 wingers in the world.

To this, Son responded, “Yes.” The Tottenham star was then asked whether or not Yamal gets into the top 10, to which the player elicited the same response.

In fact, Son resoundedly said “Yes” even when the interviewer asked whether Yamal qualifies as one of the top five wingers in the world.

However, when asked whether Yamal is one of the three best wingers in the world, Son said, “No.”

Explaining why Yamal doesn’t get into the top three, the South Korean international said the Spaniard still has room to improve. He even went on to back the Barcelona star to become the number one in the years to come.

“He’s an incredible player, don’t get me wrong. At this age, the way he plays is amazing. I enjoy watching him every moment. It’s great that he’s so young and still has a lot to develop. Over the next few years, he’ll be No. 1,” Son said (h/t Goal).

This is quite the praise coming from a player who is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever hail from Asia, with no less than four Asian Player of the Year awards to his name.

Son is not the only footballing personality to heap praise on Lamine Yamal, though, with former Manchester United superstar Owen Hargreaves also recently admiring the Barcelona sensation.
