Mathys Tel is in line for his first Tottenham start in their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Aston Villa.

Richarlison is facing another spell out after suffering a calf injury in Thursday’s 4-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Liverpool.

With Dominic Solanke still a few weeks away from returning from his knee injury, Tel is set to lead the line for Spurs at Villa Park.

The on-loan Bayern Munich teenager can play anywhere across the frontline but it has been claimed in Germany that he sees himself as a central striker.

Spurs are still depleted by injuries and Micky van de Ven remains sidelined, so Kevin Danso is likely to continue alongside Ben Davies at centre-back.

Lucas Bergvall is pushing to come into midfield, while Pedro Porro is likely to be recalled after starting on the bench against Liverpool.

Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, James Maddison, Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson are still out, while Dane Scarlett is cup-tied.

Radu Dragusin has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.

Tottenham predicted XI: Kinsky; Porro, Danso, Davies, Spence; Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall; Kulusevski, Tel, Son

Injured: Solanke, Romero, Odobert, Dragusin, Van de Ven, Maddison, Udogie, Vicario, Johnson, Werner, Richarlison

Cup-tied: Scarlett
