With Christopher Jullien signing a three year contract with Montpellier today in a deal that brings in around a million euros plus add-ons for the French defender, attention now turns to the other fringe players that Ange Postecoglou reckons will have limited game-time this season.
Mikey Johnston has numerous offers which are being considered by the player who Ange spoke highly of at last week’s media conference ahead of the 2-0 win over Hearts. But to find his way at Celtic, Johnston has to go out and find his form on loan. Hopefully he’ll have the sense to join a team that’s on the from foot and challenging at the top of a league rather than ending up as a luxury player in a relegation dog-fight.

And then there’s Albian Ajeti, who is clearly not in the manager’s plans this season and is now the subject of speculation linking him with a move to Spanish football to newly promoted second division side Racing Santander.
The Basque side have been in contact with Celtic regarding the Swiss international striker who cost Celtic £5m after signing from West Ham in the 2020 summer transfer window.
According to Spanish outlet Primicias, Ajeti sees the attraction of playing his football in Spain but the player has many offers to consider. Hopefully he’ll make his mind up swiftly and be away from Celtic before the window closes next Thursday.
“Racing de Santander requests the transfer of Celtic player Albian Ajeti, a complicated operation due to the offers that the Swiss player has but the player does not see bad look playing in Spain,” is the rough translation.
