Trent Alexander-Arnold was criticised for his defensive performance against Manchester United in the Premier League amid reports that Real Madrid had made a bid to bring him to LaLiga in January.
And despite bringing him off in that game, boss Arne Slot handed the defender a place as captain in the starting XI against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup third round.
That faith was repaid with a beauty of a strike just before the half-time whistle blew, which you can watch below.
Whilst the opposition may be from League Two, there's no denying that the technique was simply perfect.
In fact, of players to have scored five or more goals for Liverpool in all competitions since the Premier League began, Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored the highest percentage from outside the box (76% - 16/21).
No matter where he might end up eventually, Liverpool fans will have enjoyed that one from their Captain Fantastic.
