Eleanor Heeps has earned her first full call-up to the England Women’s Under-23s squad, with Lenna Gunning-Williams and Ella Morris retaining their places for the Young Lionesses.
Our young shot stopper was named in the Under-23s squad last month as a training player – the first time she has been away with her country since Under-19s level – but she will now be part of both matchdays for Emma Coates’ side in April.
Having made her senior debut for the Club in the 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the Women’s League Cup in November, Eleanor has since featured in a further five games while being named regularly in our Barclays Women’s Super League matchday squads.
Ella has kept her place in the Under-23s squad following a number of impressive performances in the WSL since returning from injury – starting and completing 90 minutes in our last three games.
Earning her first call-up to the Under-23s back in October, Lenna also remains in Coates’ side ahead of their international friendlies against Spain and Belgium or Sweden.
The Young Lionesses will travel to Spain on Thursday 3 April (6pm UK) before facing either Belgium or Sweden three days later at Murcia Stadium, Spain.
Elsewhere in the Nations League, defender Luana Buhler was called up to the Switzerland national team squad for their fixtures against France and Iceland, while goalkeeper Lize Kop has been selected for the Netherlands for their double-header with Austria.
Midfielder Anna Csiki was also named in the Hungary squad as they take on Serbia and Finland in their Nations League group and Olivia Holdt has earned a call-up to the Denmark after she was a late inclusion for the Red and White in the previous international camp.
Outside of Europe, Hayley Raso, Charlotte Grant and Clare Hunt have all been named in their double-header against Korea of Republic in an international friendly.
