Middlesbrough have confirmed that midfielder George Saville has left the club to rejoin Championship rivals Millwall.
Saville joined ‘Boro from Millwall back in 2018 for a reported £8million, having previously made 67 appearances for the Lions across three spells with the club.
The Northern Ireland international went on to play 118 times in all competitions for ‘Boro, scoring 12 goals in that time.
Now though, the 28-year-old is back at The Den, after it was announced that he has completed his transfer back to Millwall for an undisclosed fee.
Saville has put pen to paper on a long term contract with Millwall, who will be looking to improve on their 11th place finish – one position and two points behind Middlesbrough – in the Championship from last season.
Taking to Twitter to react to Saville’s departure, plenty of Middlesbrough fans were keen to give their thoughts on the player’s exit from The Riverside Stadium.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
