William Saliba is happy at Arsenal and there’s nothing in rumours that Paris Saint-Germain could make a move for him, according to a report.

Fabrizio Romano reports that despite some claims to the contrary, there’s nothing in a rumour that Paris Saint-Germain could make a big offer for William Saliba at this stage.

PSG haven’t made any kind of approach for the player, with no offer and no talks.

Romano adds that Saliba is happy at Arsenal and he’s not in talks with any club over a departure, and given his importance to the Gunners the journalist believes it’s unlikely the defender will have a decision to make for a while yet.

Saliba would be unlikely to consider an approach from PSG at the moment anyway, considering how his current team performed against the Parisians just this week.

The defender was part of a comfortable and confident 2-0 win over Ligue 1’s premier side, so a move to PSG would feel like a step down.

There’s obviously the French connection there, with Saliba having been raised in Paris and receiving coaching from Kylian Mbappe’s father as a child. But in footballing terms, Arsenal have the superior side at the moment.

Saliba has a contract with Arsenal until 2027, and you’d think the club will want to extend that stay as soon as the player is open to hold talks. At 23, he should still have many years left at the top.

But for the next couple of years at least, there should be no debate over the defender’s future.
