Amid the news that AC Milan are looking to appoint a sporting director there seems to be a new name linked every day, and today is no difference.

As we reported and as is being widely spoken about by the Italian media, Milan intend to hire a new director to insert into the management, allowing Geoffrey Moncada to return to being predominantly a chief scout.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) confirms that the intention of the ownership is to add a director alongside Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to form a new working group heading into a potentially huge summer.

Over the course of the last few days the likes of François Modesto, Andrea Berta, Fabio Paratici and Igli Tare have been linked. The paper puts forward another name: Nicolas Burdisso, who has been without a club since leaving Fiorentina.

The former Roma and Inter defender played with Ibrahimovic for three years, an aspect that is far from being underestimated. At the time he left, Sky reported that Burdisso wanted the sporting director that Daniele Prade had with La Viola, a position that Milan can offer him.

Under Burdisso’s tenure, Fiorentina brought in the likes of Nicolas Gonzalez, Igor, Jonathan Ikone, Lucas Torreira, Dodo and Lucas Beltran among others.
