A pair of up-and-coming defensive talents at La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to travel to the USA for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Jacobo Ramón and Joan Martínez as the players in question.

A new era at Real Madrid is of course set to be kicked into gear next month, upon the incoming Xabi Alonso leading Los Blancos into the newly-formatted Club World Cup.

The Spanish tactician is expected to call upon a sizable group of stars for the tournament, owing to the allowance of 36 players in each travelling party.

And in line to benefit from as much, as alluded to above, are young stoppers Jacobo Ramón and Joan Martínez.

20-year-old Jacobo has for his part featured from the off in each of Real Madrid’s last two La Liga outings, amid an injury crisis at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s backline.

17-year-old prodigy Joan, meanwhile, is in the final stages of recovery from an ACL injury, set to return to competitive action imminently.

Both, in turn, will be part of Xabi Alonso’s first Blancos squad, bound for the United States next month.
