Team performances and journeys so far

Barcelona

The defending champions have demonstrated formidable form, topping their group yet again with an impressive 15 points. Barcelona’s attacking prowess was evident in a commanding 3-0 victory over top English competitors Manchester City. The clash featured goals from Claudia Pina, Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas.

VfL Wolfsburg

The Frauen-Bundesliga team secured their place in the quarter-finals by finishing as runners-up in their group, showcasing resilience and tactical discipline throughout the group stages.

Manchester City

Despite facing an injury crisis, Man City have advanced to the quarter-finals after demonstrating squad depth and adaptability. Their journey included a notable 2-0 victory over Barcelona at the start of their group stages.

Chelsea

The English champions have been in scintillating form. They matched Barcelona, topping their group with 15 points. Chelsea have shown attacking strength and defensive solidity, which have been key to their progression in the competition. Chelsea’s all-around performance has been particularly impressive and they will look to carry this momentum into the quarter-finals, where they will face Manchester City. The Blues continue to push for their first ever Champions League title.

Arsenal

The Gunners topped their group with a great record after previous years of heartbreak, showcasing a blend of youthful energy and experienced leadership. So far, their attacking play has been particularly impressive with the likes of Alessia Russo and Mariona Caldentey making a real positive impact on the pitch.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid have been a revelation, finishing second in their group. The Spanish side came runners-up to Chelsea with 10 points and advance to the quarter-finals with a series of strong performances in the group stages. In the Champions League group stages, Signe Bruun emerged as Real Madrid’s top scorer, netting five goals.

Bayern Munich

The German giants have been consistent throughout the group stages, putting in multiple great shifts and finishing second in their group. The result sets them up for a mouthwatering quarter-final clash with last year’s runners-up Lyon. Pernille Harder’s clinical finishing and consistent performances were pivotal in Bayern’s progression to the knockout stages. Notably, she netted a hat-trick in a 5-2 victory over Arsenal in October.

Olympique Lyonnais

Throughout the group stages, the record eight-time champions demonstrated a formidable offensive strategy, with Kadidiatou Diani leading the charge. Her consistent goalscoring ability was a key factor in Lyon’s progression to the knockout rounds. The team’s overall performance highlighted their depth and tactical discipline, setting a strong foundation for the challenges ahead in the competition.

As the Champions League progresses, these teams will vie for a coveted spot in the final, promising thrilling encounters in the coming months.
