This is huge news as it means a large support will hopefully come out to cheer on the Ghirls in an important European match against the English champions. Maybe there could even be a discussion of a Celtic End to make the atmosphere better than ever…?
The last time Celtic Women played at Paradise was on flag day, when Kelly Clark led out the Celts as they kicked off their defence of the league title for the first time. They remain unbeaten, with their only dropped points coming in a goalless draw against Hibs, and with a crucial match on Thursday against theRangers, this news couldn’t have come at a better time as it will hopefully draw more eyes towards women’s football.
The Chelsea game being played in Parkhead isn’t the only exciting news to come out recently either, as it was announced that Elena Sadiku’s side will now play all of their home games at New Douglas Park in Hamilton. The game against Vorskla Poltava being the final to be played by the Ghirls at the Excelsior Stadium is now sort of poetic, with this move signifying the start of something big for a promising Celtic side.
And the first game to be played at the new ground will be Celtic’s Champions League group stage opener against Twente on Tuesday 8 October. The game kicks off at 8pm and with easier transport links to get to the new ground, hopefully, many fans of the Hoops will be there to cheer on the Ghirls in green!
