A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Valencia has this week provided an insight into his long-term plans with the club.
The player in question? Hugo Duro.
Frontman Duro has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines across Spain over the course of recent days.
This comes after the 25-year-old was responsible for arguably the highlight of Valencia’s season to date.
With his side locked at a goal apiece in a meeting with reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, Duro emerged from the bench to net the game’s decisive goal deep into injury-time.
As much kept alive what has been a solid campaign on the part of the attacker to date, with Duro now boasting eight goals and two assists in 23 La Liga appearances.
All of a Valencia persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be delighted to hear of Duro’s plans for the future.
Speaking to the media in a press conference on Wednesday, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, Los Che’s star striker announced:
“Valencia is my life. I’m supporting a club that, by history, is one of the greatest in Spain. Everything the club does is incredible; it’s an honor to defend it. I got married at Mestalla; for me, it’s my life, and I hope I can be here until I retire, and when I retire, I’ll be here too.”
