VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller a doubt for the DFB-Pokal final as he is sidelined with a ligement injury | OneFootball

VfB Stuttgart have announced that midfielder Angelo Stiller is a doubt for the DFB-Pokal final after picking up an injury against Augsburg at the weekend.

On the penultimate matchday of the Bundesliga season, Stiller was substituted off in Stuttgart’s 4-0 win against Augsburg in the 16th minute.

A scan on Monday revealed that the 23-year-old has suffered a ligament injury, keeping him out for the final game of the season against RB Leipzig.

When it comes to the DFB-Pokal final a week on Saturday, Stiller is a doubt as his participation will be dependent on his recovery.

The German football showpiece is on the 24th May and sees Stuttgart face third division side Arminia Bielefeld at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Stuttgart are looking for their first piece of major silverware in over 17 years, while Bielefeld are looking to win their first ever major honour. The winner will book a place into the Europa League next season.
