As reported by Braunschweiger Zeitung, VfL Wolfsburg have shown an interest in Kevin Volland from AS Monaco.
The wolves are looking for potential forward reinforcements with ample experience this summer. One of the players of interest is German international, Volland. The striker had a good spell at Monaco with the previous head coach and current manager of Wolfsburg, Niko Kovac. A possible reuniting of the pair could work well for both parties.
However, this season, it hasn’t been going so well for the 30-year-old. This season, he has featured 15 times in Ligue 1 scoring three times.
Though his contract runs until the summer of 2024, the forward has expressed his interest in returning to Germany one day.
“My family and I are definitely drawn back to Germany, home, we want to live in the Allgäu again after our career,” explained Volland.
Other German players currently playing abroad which are of interest to Wolfsburg include Inter’s Robin Gosens. However, financially, this would be a tricky deal to navigate. It appears much more likely that Wolfsburg could bring Volland into their ranks for the 2023/24 season.
