David De Gea helped Fiorentina to victory away against Lazio on Sunday evening with a big save to deny a well-struck effort from Adam Marusic in the fifth minute of injury time to end a run of seven matches without a win.
The Viola rose to a 2-1 victory away at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening, despite playing the last half an hour with 10 men following Yacine Adli’s red card. The former Milan midfielder opened the scoring, followed by a second from Lucas Beltran before Marusic pulled one back in the 92nd minute.

With the result not yet secure in injury time, and with his team at a numerical disadvantage, De Gea needed to pull off a big save to deny Marusic again in the 95th minute to help Fiorentina on their way to victory.

Marusic’s effort was well-hit, bending in the air and destined for the far corner had it not been for a flying save from the former Manchester United stopper.
Fiorentina’s win over Lazio helped end a run of seven games without a win across all competitions, and it was also the Viola’s first victory in Serie A since the 1-0 win over Cagliari on December 8.
